How We Help:
Assisting in the Full Application Process
We focus on using all parts of the application to reveal the student's unique creative point of view. That means that personal essays, artist statements, portfolios and art supplements/auditions all work together to create a strong description of what the student is capable of - whether they're applying to liberal arts universities, conservatories or other specialized programs.
Applying to multiple programs with varying requirements can be daunting, especially when deadlines differ for prescreens, portfolio submissions and applications. We create monthly timelines that break the process down, insuring that the student can meet various deadlines without feeling overwhelmed.
Portfolio Development and Curation
We review student work and make suggestions for additional pieces to help show their preparation for studying the visual arts. There are a multitude of majors and therefore many different art supplement requirements. We make sure that the student is using this opportunity to submit their strongest work.
Crafting the College Application School List
We maintain current data for a wide variety of majors. Our counselors help students to research the curriculum, faculty and student work to discover how a program might align with their goals. We also help students to prepare for college tours and interviews.
Crafting the Personal Essay
We use a specific technique that helps the student find their own story while also revealing personal characteristics and values. Using our method, the student is able to write an initial draft quickly and then complete the essay with our guidance. We make the process stress free and full of valuable introspection.
The artist statement should show evidence of how you compose your ideas - your opinions, who inspires you, and why you do the work that you do. We have a detailed questionnaire that helps the student to begin the process of writing their artist statement.
